The Missouri Botanical Garden was founded in 1859 and it is the oldest botanical gardens in the United States. The garden covers an area of 79 acres and this area includes a range of traditional, modern collections of plants.
There are a range of gardens to see during your visit these include the children’s garden, Japanese garden and Climatron tropical rainforest. The children’s garden offers hands on learning and plenty of fun for all the family. This is also an ideal location for birthday parties with parties for up to 24 children available for $200.
The Japanese garden is one of the top attractions here and it covers a total of 14 acres, it is called Seiwa-en which means garden of pure, clear harmony and peace. Here you will find a four acre lake and a selection of waterfalls, streams and bridges provides you with a beautiful landscape.
The Climatron conservatory is home to over 1,200 species of plants covering half and acre and situated within the tropical rainforest. The dome is an iconic feature of the botanical gardens and it is also home tropical birds and a variety of animals.
