The City Museum is one of the best museums in St Louis with plenty of interactive attractions houses inside 600,000 square feet. The museum only opened in 1997 and it attracts over half a million visitors a year.
The museum is housed at the site of a former shoe factory and warehouse and it has won multiple awards for its innovation and excellent use of a public space. The visitors to the museum are encouraged to be touch and climb on exhibits and they enjoy a truly interactive experience.
Although the museum is aimed at children it offers plenty of fun for people of all ages and offers visitors a unique experience. There are a total of 4 floors to the museum and also an outside area called MonstroCity.
Highlights throughout the museum include the Enchanted Caves where you can walk, crawl and climb through the caves. There is also Toddler Town for the younger children, here you will find tunnels, slides and building blocks which will keep the younger visitors entertained.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the museum is the MonstroCity where you can crawl through wire mesh 25ft above the ground. Here you will find a fire engine, castle turret and even a ball pit all put together to make a thoroughly enjoyable interactive attraction which adults and children can both enjoy.
