Lambert International Airport

The main airport in St Louis is Lambert International (STL) which is around a 25 minute drive from the downtown area of St Louis. The airport is relatively easy to navigate and there are a wide range of domestic flights which leave on a daily basis, these include direct flights to Las Vegas, New York and Chicago. There are a range of options for getting from the airport into ST Louis, with either a shuttle bus or taxi being the most popular methods.

Train Station

The main railway station in St Louis is the Amtrak, from here you can get a train service to neighbouring areas which include Chicago and Texas. It is best to book the tickets in advance online if you want to get the lowest fares and you will usually find that the train is an excellent alternative to air travel with spacious seats which are the equivalent of business class on a plane.

Bus Service

If you are using the bus within St Louis then the MetroBus service is what you will require, this will take you round the main areas of St Louis and you can get a combo pass which also allows travel on the MetroLink rail service. If you are looking to do interstate travel then the Greyhound Bus or the MegaBus are the two main options. The MegaBus offers the cheapest travel with a single ticket to Chicago starting from only $10 and also routes to Kansas and Columbia available. If you are looking for further travel then the Greyhound bus service operates throughout the United States to all the main cities.

MetroLink

The MetroLink is the cheapest and probably the best way to get around St Louis if you do not have access to a car, the line covers a wide area including Downtown and the Airport and has a total of 27 stations. There are a range of options available for fares with combo tickets, day tickets and week tickets available. The best option depends on how frequently you plan to ride the Metro and fares go from $2-$68.
